Make It Make Sense
I think this is as far as I can go without consulting an expert.
Can I retire from teaching but then take on a full-time remote job and still collect my teaching retirement money? How does it affect taxes? Should I retire based on years of service or should I try to retire based on disability with my RA? How do I access my deceased ex-husband's social security payments? What would a mortgage do to my taxes after retirement?
This is way too much for me to research, and the little I've already tried to research is quite intimidating. I don't even know the language! And being a teacher in Texas is complicated at retirement- rule of 80, rule of 90, Tier number! Where do I stand??
I would like to aim for May for retirement but do I have time to find out where I stand and make a decision?
I've made life decisions before. They have all worked out - so far. I've "reinvented" myself several times as an adult and I've been pretty good at it. This decision though...
